August 25, 2022Supervised Agricultural Experience:
I spend my time taking part in a Placement SAE based on Agricultural Mechanics Repair/Maintenance. At a very young age, I became interested in antique tractors. My grandfather and uncle piqued my interest in antique restoration. Through my SAE, I find antique tractors that are left in poor condition and restore them to like new condition. Once restored, I take them to local shows and parades, and use them to teach others about the advancements made in agricultural technology over many decades. This SAE is my stress relief, as I find happiness in mechanics. I am currently training on the job to become a diesel mechanic at Parnell, Inc. This job allows me to learn how to do basic maintenance, as well as repairs on semi-trucks, forestry equipment and tractors.
Career Development/Leadership/Talent Event(s):
I competed in the Zero Turn CDE in the 8th grade. In 9th grade, I attended the Greenhand Leadership Conference at Auburn University and the Alfa Youth Leadership Conference at the 4-H Center. Most recently, I was part of the Vet Science CDE competition and the team qualified for state.
Major FFA Accomplishments:
Placing first in a CDE in 8th grade was a major accomplishment at the time and fueled my desire to become more involved in the organization. My most recent major accomplishment is being elected as a State Officer.
Favorite Book:
Any book that showcases tractor equipment through the years, such as “Red Combines”, “Legendary Farm Tractors” and “The Bigger Book of John Deere.”
Favorite Movie:
My favorite movie is Smokey and the Bandit. It is a comedy movie with great music and I enjoy watching the trucks and fast cars.
Favorite Meal:
My favorite meal consists of a house salad with ranch, catfish filets, macaroni and cheese, wedge fries, fried okra with sweet tea and peach ice cream for dessert.
Favorite Quote:
“If you got a dream, chase it, ’cause a dream won’t chase you back.” by Cody Johnson in his song, ‘Til You Can’t.
Favorite Song:
I constantly have a new favorite song. My current favorite song is, “If It Was Easy” by Bryan Martin but I am always up for listening to anything by Alabama or the Charlie Daniels Band.
Favorite thing about FFA:
My favorite thing about FFA is seeing the excitement at events and conventions as well as seeing the friendships made there. Thanks to FFA I have friends across the state.
Favorite FFA Memory:
My favorite memory is from my first Alabama FFA State Convention. During the various workshops, I made many new friends and by the end of convention was inspired to run for State FFA Office.
College Plans:
Currently, I am exploring my options. I am not sure if I want to attend a university or a career technical college.
