July 30, 2025Supervised Agricultural Experience:
My Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) is in Poultry Production. I’ve spent my entire life on a three-house broiler chicken farm, where I’ve been involved in the daily care and management of our flocks. Growing up in this environment has given me a strong understanding of poultry production and has helped shape my work ethic and skills in agriculture. Over the years, I’ve taken on more responsibility, and poultry farming has become a major part of who I am.
Career Development/ Leadership/ Talent Event(s):
In FFA, I compete in both the CDE Livestock Judging and the LDE Extemporaneous Speaking events. As a member of the Hartselle Livestock Judging team, we proudly placed 3rd in the state, which was a great accomplishment for our team. I also compete individually in Extemporaneous Speaking, where I placed 3rd in the state as well. These competitions have helped me grow in confidence, sharpen my decision-making skills, and improve my ability to think and speak clearly under pressure.
Major FFA Accomplishments:
My major accomplishments in FFA include placing 3rd in the state for Extemporaneous Speaking, 3rd in the state for Livestock Judging, and 3rd in the state for the Poultry Production Proficiency. Each of these achievements has been the result of hard work, dedication, and a passion for agriculture. In addition to competing, I’ve also had the opportunity to serve in leadership roles. During the 2024–2025 year, I served as the North District Reporter, where I helped share our district’s FFA story and promoted agricultural education. I now have the honor of serving as the Alabama FFA State Sentinel, where I continue to grow as a leader while representing members across the state.
Favorite Book:
My favorite book is the Bible. It’s more than just a book to me—it’s something I turn to daily for guidance, peace, and encouragement. I try to live my life by what it teaches, whether that’s showing kindness, being honest, or just doing the right thing even when it’s hard. It helps me stay grounded and reminds me of what really matters. The Bible has always been a steady part of my life, and it’s something I’m truly thankful for.
Favorite Movie:
My favorite movie is Where the Red Fern Grows. It’s always stuck with me because of its message about hard work, determination, and the strong bond between a boy and his dogs. I love how it shows the importance of loyalty and pushing through tough times. One of my favorite quotes from the movie is, “You have to meet God halfway there.” That line really speaks to me—it’s a reminder that while faith is important, you also have to put in the effort. The story is full of heart and teaches meaningful lessons that have stayed with me over the years.
Favorite Meal:
My favorite meal has to be steak. It goes without saying that I’m getting it cooked medium rare.
Favorite Quote:
My favorite quote is from Nick Saban, and it’s “Play the next play.” I like this quote because it reminds me to stay focused and keep moving forward, no matter what happens. Instead of dwelling on mistakes or setbacks, it encourages me to concentrate on what’s coming next and give my best effort every time. It’s a simple but powerful reminder that helps me stay positive and keep pushing toward my goals.
Favorite Song:
My favorite song is “In Color” by Jamey Johnson. Every time I hear it, I’m reminded of my great-grandmother and great-grandfather, two of my favorite people. The song’s story and emotions bring back memories of stories my great-grandfather tells to this day about life’s ups and downs, and how it was for them before it could be recorded. It’s a meaningful song that connects me to my family and helps me appreciate the past and the lessons they’ve shared.
Favorite Thing About FFA:
My favorite thing about FFA is the community. Playing sports my whole life I’ve never been in “the crowd” and often felt out of place. It wasn’t until I joined FFA that I really found my place. FFA is special in that there is no “crowd” or “click” ; it’s just over a million people nationwide who share the same interests and values that we all know and love. I thank the Lord everyday that he led me and so many others into this amazing Organization.
Favorite FFA Memory:
My absolute favorite FFA memory happened recently, on June 6, 2025, when I was elected 2025-2026 Alabama State Sentinel. Looking out into the crowd and seeing my advisor, Austyn Randolph, my mom and dad, and all the people who have supported me throughout my entire FFA journey filled me with overwhelming gratitude. Hearing my name called was an unforgettable moment that brought a rush of emotions—excitement, joy, and a deep sense of accomplishment. That experience continues to inspire me and reminds me every day why I love this organization so much and how much it has truly shaped who I am today.
College Plans:
After high school, I plan to follow the “Path to the Plains” by attending Southern Union and then transferring to Auburn University to earn my degree in agricultural education. I’m choosing this path because I’m passionate about agriculture and want to help others discover its importance. Becoming an agricultural educator will allow me to share my knowledge and inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders the same way I have been influenced throughout my FFA journey.
