SAE
My Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs) include both Beef Cattle and Sheep Production. I have grown up on my family’s beef cattle and sheep farm and work with our livestock on a daily basis. My duties range from everyday tasks such as feeding and watering to more complex tasks such as assisting with the artificial insemination of our females to improve genetic herd quality. I have shown lambs, pigs, goats, and cattle throughout my life, but lambs and cattle are my favorite species to exhibit. I work with my showstock on a daily basis and ensure that my projects are well cared for and ready to hit the ring. My SAEs have taught me the value of hard work, dedication, and responsibility, and have been a large part of my daily life.
Favorite FFA Memory
My favorite memory from my time in FFA was being selected to serve as the 2026-2027 Alabama FFA State Vice President. My dad is an Ag teacher, so I have been around FFA for my entire life. Growing up, past state officers were individuals who I looked up to and people who I wanted to be like one day. Hearing my name called as a state officer was an emotional roller coaster. I was so excited to know that I would get to serve an organization that has done so much for me and I had a strong sense of accomplishment of realizing all of my hard work to prepare had paid off. That experience continues to remind me why I love FFA and all that it has done and continues to do for me.
Favorite Book
My favorite book is the Bible. I love the Bible because no matter my situation, it provides truth to help guide me through life. It is an instruction book that helps to hold me accountable to live my life in a manner that brings glory to our Lord and focuses me on the things that are truly important. It provides encouragement, peace, and strength in my daily life. The more I read and learn, the closer I grow in my relationship with Jesus and no other book provides those types of current and eternal benefits.
Favorite Movie
My favorite movie is Secretariat. The movie is the story of a housewife who, when faced with the risk of losing her family farm, stood her ground and continuously fought for what she believed in. She was ultimately able to accomplish the greatest achievement in horse racing by owning a Triple Crown winner. The sense of accomplishment by staying the course even through difficulties has always stood out to me.
Favorite Food
My favorite foods are pizza, steak, and fried bologna. They’re all so good that picking just one as a favorite would be an injustice.
Favorite Quote
My favorite quote is “Be all you can be”-Goarmy.com. Everyone is different. The quote doesn’t hold everyone to the same standard, but it does encourage us to be the best versions of ourselves.
Future Plans
Throughout my time in FFA, my favorite competition has always been livestock judging. After graduation, I plan to continue judging livestock in both junior and senior college and participate in collegiate FFA. While I am still exploring specific career paths, I know my future lies in agriculture, and I hope to continue contributing to an industry that has taught me the value of hard work, responsibility, and service. I truly believe in the future of agriculture and in my ability to continue learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, and living to serve.
Hobbies
Playing Golf and Watching the Atlanta Braves
Most excited
During my year of service, I am most excited about having the opportunity to live to serve by connecting with and serving members of our association. I look forward to building meaningful relationships in order to understand how I can better serve our members, advisors, staff, and my teammates. I hope to be relatable in all situations and I will do my best to fulfill that role.
