Jayden McMillian

Supervised Agricultural Experience: 

I have two SAE’s being Agricultural Education and Communications. I have the ability to teach Ag lessons to the elementary and high school students at my school, write articles for my local newspaper, and even write and design newsletters for my chapter’s social media.

Career Development/Leadership/Talent Events:

I have competed in many different CDE’s and LDE’s. Starting with Conduct of a Chapter Meeting and advancing to State, Meats Evaluation, Aquaculture, Ag Education, and Extemporaneous Speaking.

Major FFA Accomplishments:

My major FFA accomplishments include serving as a McKenzie FFA Chapter Officer for three years, recently serving as the South District Reporter, and now being able to serve as the Alabama FFA State Secretary!

Favorite Book:

I don’t necessarily have a favorite book, but “Recitatif” —a short story— by Toni Morrison is my favorite thing to read!

Favorite Movie:

My favorite movie is “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” I am a huge fan of watching fantasy movies!

Favorite Meal: 

My favorite meal is a “Wings and Things” from Zaxby’s with tongue-torch and extra Zax sauce!

Favorite Song: 

My favorite song is “Burnin’ Up” by the Jonas Brothers.

Favorite thing about FFA:

My favorite thing about FFA is making numerous friends and connections that will last a lifetime! I have not only made friends all over Alabama, but across the United States!

Favorite FFA Memory:

My favorite FFA Memory has to be the 2022 State Livestock Expo. Waking up those early mornings with other members from my chapter and washing calves was always rough. But being able to hangout and cheer each other on as we each showed in our respective classes was always a blast.

College Plans:

I plan on attending Auburn University next year to get my degree in Agriscience Education. During my time in FFA, I have developed a very strong passion for Agriculture and teaching!
