Introduction: The support of your institution is key to the success of our activities and your partnership is very important to us. In the information below you will see our plans and guidelines for safely social distancing and following CDC guidelines while on your campus. We want to thank you for taking the time to consider hosting the Alabama FFA Association and our students as them compete for the opportunity to advance to the state level of competition.

Opening Session and Awards Session: Due to social distancing guidelines, we will not be having our traditional large group gatherings as in previous years. We will move straight into the contest portions scheduling students to arrive at certain times and minimizing the volume of participants on campus at a given time.

Creed Speaking (Chilton County High School)

4 judges (3 judges and 1 accuracy judge plus a timekeeper if needed) and 1 student at a time in a room. Students will be scheduled at 20 min intervals. Students will show up at their allotted time and leave before the next students scheduled time. If a student/chapter arrives early they will remain on their bus until their scheduled time.

Example: Students will be asked to arrive 10 mins prior to their scheduled time and wait outside until the are called in.

8:20 am – Jane Doe checks in for her speech outside

8:30 am- Jane Doe enters room to do her speech

8:50 am – Jane Doe departs for home

8:50 am – John Doe checks in for his speech outside

9:00 am John Doe enters room for his speech

9:20 am John Doe departs for home

Etc…

Extemporaneous Speaking (Chilton County High School)

Conduct of Chapter (LeCroy Tech Center)

3 judges plus timekeeper and 7 students at a time in a room. Chapters (7 Students) will be scheduled at 20 min intervals. Chapters will show up at their allotted time and leave before the next Chapters scheduled time. If a student/chapter arrives early they will remain on their bus until their scheduled time.

Example: Chapters will be asked to arrive 10 mins prior to their scheduled time and wait outside until they are called in.

8:20 am – FFA Chapter 1 checks in for their demonstration outside

8:30 am- FFA Chapter 1 enters room to do their demonstration

8:50 am – FFA Chapter 1 departs for home

8:50 am – FFA Chapter 2 checks in for their demonstration outside

9:00 am – FFA Chapter 2 enters room for their demonstration

9:20 am – FFA Chapter 2 departs for home

Etc…

Discussion Meet (LeCroy Tech Center)

1 moderator, 3 judges, and up to 6 students in a room at one time. All students will gather outside and be divided into groups of 6. Those groups will remain outside socially distancing until their group is called in. When their group is finished with the discussion meet they will return to their bus and wait with the rest of their chapter members for departure to their home.

Tractor Driving (LeCroy Tech Center)

There will be around 25 students and helpers at this event. It Will be hosted outside following CDC guidelines.  Will most likely be held at LeCroy Tech Center. Students May be scheduled to come in and compete at certain times like the Speaking Contest.

Students will be scheduled at 20 min intervals. Chapters will show up at their allotted time and leave before the next Chapters scheduled time. If a student/chapter arrives early they will remain on their bus until their scheduled time.

Example: Chapters will be asked to arrive 10 mins prior to their scheduled time and wait outside until they are called in.

8:20 am – FFA Chapter 1 checks in

8:25 am- FFA Chapter 1 completes ID Portion of the Contest

8:30 am – FFA Chapter 1 completes the demonstration portion of the event

                    FFA Chapter 2 checks in

8:40 am – FFA Chapter 1 completes the written exam and on completion of the exam departs and FFA Chapter 2 completes ID Portion of the Contest

8:50 am – FFA Chapter 2 completes the demonstration portion of the event

                    FFA Chapter 3 checks in

9:00 am – FFA Chapter 2 completes the written exam and on completion of the exam   departs and FFA Chapter 3 completes ID Portion of the Contest

Etc…

Forestry (off site in the county)

There will be around 50 students and helpers at this event. This event will be hosted outside off campus following CDC guidelines.

 

COVID 19 CDC Guidelines

Student Temps will be taken upon arrival. Mask will be worn at all time and individuals will maintain a six-foot distance at all times.
