Beekeeping Workshop

The PD will be a basic beekeeping course and is designed for individuals who have little knowledge or experience working with honeybees. The topics covered will include  bee biology, IPM,  tool identification, colony management, honey extraction, marketing honey, safety, integration of beekeeping within the agriscience curriculum, assembling woodware/ hive construction and more. The course is modeled to teach standards covered by the Beginner Beekeeping certification offered through the Alabama Beekeepers Association. With weather permitting, we will be working in the field with live colonies. We will provide the necessary PPE.

Workshop is capped at 20 participants.

The fee for the course will be approximately $300. This fee will pay for the supplies and materials for the attendees.
